What
does Home Helpers do for me?
We expedite the job of finding you an excellent
nanny, caregiver, housekeeper or house manager.
We carefully and personally screen each person and
we ensure the transition goes smoothly. Here's how.
1. We discuss your needs, so that we thoroughly
understand what you need and who you're looking
for. For instance, if you're looking for a nanny
we will want to know how old your children are,
what programs they're involved in and what interests
they have, what hours you need childcare, and what
kinds of special skills you'd like the nanny to
have.
2. We choose several suitable people, from our extensive
database, who will be right for you and your job.
You meet with, and interview, them.
3. You pick the candidate you like best and sign
a contract (with our three month guarantee).
4. Home Helpers assists you in setting up as an
employer under the Canadian government's guidelines
and we show you how to do your taxes. 5. We follow
up with you, by phone, to make sure you're happy
with your nanny, caregiver, housekeeper or home
manager.
How much does it cost?
Our job is to find qualified candidates, thoroughly
screen them, and come to know their skills, experience
and areas of expertise. We listen carefully to you
to understand exactly what you want from a nanny,
caregiver, housekeepers or house manager. And then
we make a match, pairing the right helper to the
right job. You then becomes the helper's employer.
You pay a one-time fee to Home Helpers equivalent
to one month of an employee's net salary, approximately
$1,000 to $2,000 (Canadian).
What is your guarantee?
All of our helpers have been personally selected
and interviewed by our president for their expertise,
experience and commitment to making your life easier.
Each home helper is been carefully screened, and
qualifications and references thoroughly checked
(including a criminal background check) to ensure
your satisfaction.
If, within the first three months, the fit isn't
right, for whatever reason, and either you or the
helper is not happy, we make a new match at no extra
cost.
What locations do you
serve?
For more than 27 years, we have been successfully
serving the Greater Toronto Area. We can provide
overseas live-in caregivers for clients across Canada.
All of our helpers speak English.
Does Home Helpers provide
overseas live-in caregivers?
Many of our nannies, caregivers, housekeepers and
house managers come from Singapore and Hong Kong,
because there is a strong influx of qualified domestic
helpers in those countries looking for these types
of positions. Hiring an overseas helper tends to
be more cost effective than hiring locally, with
no difference in the quality of service provided.
Our president, Judy Richards, makes frequent business
trips to Singapore and Hong Kong, where she has
built a vast pool of candidates from which she draws.
There, she gets to know each candidate, interviewing
and screening each one personally. Home Helpers
takes care of all the paperwork to allow the helpers
to come to Canada. Once a job offer is made by you,
it takes about three to six months for the governmental
approvals to be finalized and for the helper to
begin employment. We have a very high success rate
- over 95% - because we listen to your needs, we
conduct a thorough screening, and we are very, very
picky about our candidates. |
